Continuing Education

The Continuing Education program at North Georgia Technical College offers a broad range of affordable non-degree programs for everyone in the community with a desire to learn and have fun. We are committed to a program of public service, outreach and continuing education by making available resources for our community, workforce and for those that desire lifelong learning and development. We also offer online courses that are convenient and flexible for you to learn in the comfort of your own home. You’ll find our courses conveniently offered on both weekdays and weekends, daytime and evenings, and one-time workshops or multiple-sessions. We’re here for you!

Start Your Own Vineyard

The first & last session will take place in a working vineyard with estate wine tasting following. There is no "ONE" best technique, grape variety, soil type or wine. There is a subjective nature to the growing of vines. Grow you own grapes to produce wine or to sell to wineries. The enjoyment of growing wine grapes is both Art & Science. Topics will include: The location, Planting, the Trellis, Early Vineyard Care, Vine Training & Pruning, Taking Care of your Vineyard, When to Pick and overview of Wine Making.

ServSafe Certification

The ServSafe course is designed for food service managers in restaurants, child care centers, adult care facilities and school food service systems. Successful completion of the food safety and sanitation training and passing the Certification exam provides the required certification documentation accepted by the State of Georgia Health Department. The certification test will be administered at the end of class.

Drivers Education

We offer classes at all three of our campuses in Blairsville, Clarkesville and Currahee. Our upcoming classes are listed below. Course fee is $350* and includes the 30 hours of classroom instruction as well as 6 hours of drive time with an instructor. 

Lego Camp

This camp will encourage your child to be creative while learning and having a blast all at the same time! This class will help children utilize their energy on a project that can help teach motor skills, creativity and also help develop social skills. Children simply learn better when they are having fun and this hands-on class is a perfect way to build active minds. 

EdVentures Madison Tour

Highlights of the day include: Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, Heritage Hall/Rogers House & Rose Cottage, lunch at Farmview Market, shopping downtown Madison, and a tour of Terrapin Brewery.
