Student life plays an important role in the North Georgia
Technical College experience at
all three campuses. From student organizations to the
student center to campus life activities, our student’s
experience at North Georgia Tech outside the traditional
classroom is essential to the college experience.
Student organizations and clubs offer individuals an
opportunity within the educational process to broaden
their environment. The clubs that are offered include
Student Leadership Council, VICA (Vocational Industrial
Clubs of America), PBL (Phi Beta Lambda), National Technical
Honor Society, HEROES (Having Equity Resources and Opportunities
Equal Success), HOSA (Health Occupations Students of
America), and Rotaract.
Social activities at North Georgia Tech are sponsored
by the Campus Life Depar tment.
Some of the activities of that department include Eagle
Fest, receptions, health seminars, and the Mr. and Ms.
North Georgia Tech Pageant. A game room, a weight room,
a swimming pool, and tennis courts are also available
for students at the Clarkesville Campus.
Athletic facilities on the Clarkesville Campus include
a gymnasium with outdoor courts for basketball and other
games. A program of intramural sports is provided for
students at all three campuses who wish to participate.
Each of the departments in the institution may provide
a team for flag football, softball, volleyball games,
and campus cup competitions making competiti on
keen as each team seeks to capture the institution championship.
Along with all the offerings on the campus, because
North Georgia Technical College is located in beautiful
mountains, there are many mountain recreation opportunities
for our students. There are ample opportunities to enjoy
area recreation facilities including rivers, lakes,
the Chattahoochee National Forest, the Appalachian Trail,
and much more!
Student Life at North Georgia Tech is always on the
move, and our students really benefit from the traditional
college atmosphere that we strive to provide.
