Hi,
my name is Wade Turner. I’ve been attending
North Georgia Technical College for five quarters.
I am majoring in Environmental Science. The Environmental
Technology program consists of specializations
in Wildlife Resources, Fisheries Resources, and
Water Quality. The wildlife and fisheries specializations
meet the requirements of the Georgia Department
of Natural Resources. Since attending North Georgia
Technical College, I have held a technician job
at Lake Burton Fish Hatchery. I’ve also
worked several quota hunts on WMAs aging white-tailed
deer. The classroom environment gives you a hands-on
approach to fieldwork. The fieldwork includes
such thing as: setting animal traps, spotlight
surveys, mast surveys, and participating in deer
shoot-downs. We also have an aquaculture facility
on campus in which we raise out a variety of fish
species. I strongly urge anyone who enjoys the
outdoors to come and join us in this great learning
environment.
