IV. M. Instructional Live Work Projects

The instructor has the responsibility of ensuring that State Board and Local Board policies are adhered to in each "live work" situation.  The instructor shall ensure that the Customer Agreement form is signed by all customers, including employees and students of this institution, before accepting property for "live work."  If the Customer Agreement form is not signed as directed by this policy, the instructor accepting "live work" property will be personally responsible for errors and omissions regarding this property.

The instructor will comply with Business Office policies and procedures for receiving, receipting, and transmitting funds.  The instructor will complete a work order in triplicate for every "live work" project.  If the instructor collects payments for services, the instructor must complete a receipt for each payment.  The instructor must void any receipts which are completed erroneously.  A copy of all receipts (including those which are voided) and work orders will be transmitted with the funds collected to the cashier in the Business Office.  The cashier will issue a receipt for the funds to the instructor.  The instructor will retain a copy of the work order and give one copy to the customer, marked paid.  Instructors must monitor charges and ensure that charges to the school do not exceed $300 and invoices do not exceed 30 days without payment in full before work is continued.

"Live work" is accepted from students and staff only to meet specific needs of components of the curriculum.  *The instructor may vary from this practice and accept work from the outside public if practice work is not available from students and staff.  Charges to the customer will be for parts and materials plus 10 percent of defray costs of expendable supplies.  There is no charge for labor since students perform all work as a learning experience.
