III. F. Employment Contract Procedure

Full-time faculty members receive a letter from the President each spring quarter asking whether they desire a contract for the upcoming fiscal year.  Contracts for full-time faculty retained are offered by June 1 for the upcoming fiscal year.  For full-time faculty, the Vice President for Academic Affairs must also make a formal recommendation to the President to reappoint faculty.

Any contracted employee not offered a contract will be notified by May 31st of each year.

Full-time contracted faculty members wishing to alter their contracts (not in direct contradiction with existing governing board policy) or terminate their employment prior to the expiration date of the contract may do so only with the President's permission and according to his or her stated conditions.

Associate faculty members (credit and non-credit) receive a contract for each course taught in a given quarter.  These contracts are to be signed within the designated time period stated on the contract and returned to Academic Affairs for approval and processing with the Payroll/Personnel Office..  Once an adequate number of students has been registered for the class, contracts are valid only if signed by the President or designee.
