II. C. 11. Severe Inclement
Weather

-
The President of the College or the President's designee(s) will
make the determination if any/or all campuses will be affected by the inclement
weather.
-
Employees in certain job categories, which are considered
"essential services", will be expected to report for duty. Essential
services include:

Food Services (adequate staff to provide this service)
-
Security Staff (regular shift schedule)
-
Maintenance (on call)
-
One staff member for communication
-
Residence Hall Manager (available 24 hrs/7 days to assist
students)
Persons in the above categories who may be reluctant to drive
should call the school. arrangements will be made to provide these employees
with transportation to work. There will be no equivalent or compensatory
time for working on days the College is closed due to inclement weather.
If the existing or imminent weather conditions are sufficiently
severe to warrant not opening, opening late, or closing early an office or work
place, employees directly affected by such conditions will be excused from duty
without loss of pay or use of leave.

Employees who are late in arriving to work or request to leave
early because of severe weather conditions, when the College will observe normal
working hours, may be permitted to:

Make up time lost from work

Charge time lost to accrued compensatory time
-
Charge time lost to accrued leave
Otherwise, the time lost will count as leave without pay.

Employees on a regular day off or otherwise not affected when
their office or work place is closed because of severe weather conditions will
not receive additional time off or other considerations because of the closing.
