Loring, Jim (2007), Photography; Jim is British and his teaching experience began in 1997 when he taught photojournalism as part of the BA Journalism program at Surrey Institute of Art & Design in the UK. His photographic experience spans more than 23 years with over 65 assignments worldwide. In 1987 he covered stories in Romania documenting the impact of Nicolae Ceausescu’s resettlement policy. This led to opportunities with some of the world’s leading relief and development agencies including Care International, World Vision and Save the Children. His images have followed the themes embraced by many relief agencies and include healthcare, concern for the environment, food programs, water projects, work, education, reconciliation and the challenge of war and conflict. The range of Jim’s work includes architecture, product photography, editorial portraiture and wedding photography. He has photographed British celebrities and members of the Royal family and on a lighter note his personal work includes wildlife and nature photography.
