Environmental Technology
Overview
The Environmental Technology associate degree offers specialized training to those who are interested in
employment in an environmental science related field. Course work includes general education, computer
applications, biology, chemistry, industrial safety, and an extensive array of detailed environmentally specific
classes. The goal of this program is to produce graduates who have the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute
to addressing issues associated with human interactions with the environment. The courses in the Wildlife and
Fisheries Management specialization meet the requirements that the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has
established for Wildlife and Fisheries Technicians.
The Water Quality Technician technical certificate of credit program offers specialized training to those
who are interested in becoming water quality technicians whether working for city, county, state governments, or
business and industry. Credit courses count toward the Environmental Technology associate degree. Courses are
recognized by the Secretary of State toward licensure requirements.
