Entrepreneurship

Overview

The Entrepreneurship Specialist technical certificate of credit provides students interested in starting their own business with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to successfully compete in the work economy.

North Georgia Technical College’s Entrepreneurship Specialist Certificate program includes a number of courses developed to address the specific needs of the aspiring entrepreneur. While technical training itself prepares an individual with marketable skills, the entrepreneurship program serves to prepare individuals to handle the paperwork, legal requirements and marketing challenges that are essential to business success.

You can enter NGTC any semester and take day, evening or online classes. As an entrepreneurship student you will take three required courses:

  • Principles of Starting a Business
  • Financial Fundamentals for Entrepreneurs
  • Legal Issues for Entrepreneurs

The Entrepreneurship Specialist program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for small business planning, development and growth. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for small business acquisition, start-up or employment, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of small business development theory and practical application necessary for successful small business start-up or employment. Program graduates receive an Entrepreneurship Specialist Technical Certificate of Credit. Students who desire to further their education may choose to receive a diploma or an associate degree in Applied Business Technology or other technical field.
