The purpose of the Electrical Lineworker program is to provide
the student with the necessary skills and knowledge to gain
employment as an apprentice with electrical utility companies
(public and private). Competencies include introduction to
lineworker requirements; physical requirements; identification
and proper use of lineworker hand and power tools; familiarization
with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; basic electrical fundamentals;
identification and understanding of electrical utility distribution
blueprints; utility pole setting and climbing; safe operation
of a backhoe, bucket truck, ditch witch, power industrial
and line trucks; electrical and workplace safety; teambuilding
skills, and work ethics.
