The Clinical Laboratory Technology associate degree program
prepares students for technician
positions in clinical laboratories and related businesses and
industries. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical,
and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition,
retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination
of didactic and clinical instruction necessary for successful
employment. Graduates are competent in the areas of hematology
and coagulation,
urinalysis and body fluids, clinical chemistry,
immunohematology, microbiology (including parasitology),
immunology/serology, phlebotomy, and laboratory basic
skills. Program graduates receive a Clinical
Laboratory Technology Associate of Applied Science degree,
have the qualifications of a clinical laboratory technician, and
are eligible for certification.
This program is accredited by NAACLS, the National Accrediting
Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
